Is it possible to remove water from an air compressor?
Air compressors are widely used in various industrial productions. In these industries, most industrial gases must be water-free. If there is water in the air compressor, gas equipment and products will be damaged. In the screw air compressor system, a dehydration device is provided to remove moisture from the air compressor and obtain dry and clean gas. However, when the unit fails, the water removal of the air compressor may be incomplete. The specific reasons are as follows:
1. The cooling fins of the air compressor cooler are clogged by dust, etc., the compressed air is not cooled well, and the pressure dew point is increased, which will increase the difficulty of water removal in the post-processing equipment. Especially in summer, the air compressor cooler is often clogged.
2. Failure of the air-water separator. If the air compressor uses a cyclone separator, add a spiral baffle inside the cyclone separator to enhance the separation effect. The disadvantage of this separator is that its separation efficiency is high at its rated processing capacity. Once it deviates, its separation efficiency is relatively poor, resulting in an increase in the dew point.
3. The gas consumption is large, exceeding the design range. The pressure difference between the compressed air and the user end is large, resulting in high air flow velocity, short contact time between the compressed air and the adsorbent, and uneven distribution in the dryer. The flow is concentrated in the middle, making the adsorbent in the middle part too fast. The full adsorbent cannot effectively adsorb the moisture in the compressed air. The compressed air carries a lot of moisture and passes through the center, resulting in a lot of liquid water at the gas user end.
4. The adsorption material used in the adsorption dryer is activated alumina. If it is not filled tightly, it will rub and collide with each other under the impact of strong compressed air, resulting in powderization. The powderization of the adsorption material will make the adsorbent space larger and larger. A lot of compressed air passes through the space without being effectively treated, which eventually leads to the failure of the dryer.
5. The air humidity changes greatly, and the drainage frequency and time of each scheduled drainage valve are not adjusted in time, so that more water accumulates in each filter, and this accumulated water can be brought into the compressed air again.
