What are the factors to consider when choosing an air compressor?

Edit:Bengbu Zhengda Compressor Co., Ltd.UpDate:2021-10-14

When selecting the standard of air compressor, you need to confirm the requirements of factory air volume (m3/min) and pressure (Mpa(G)), and then determine what kind of air compressor to choose based on the following factors.

When choosing, you may need to consider factors including:

What is the current gas consumption? What is the gas consumption after the expansion of the factory? Generally speaking, the annual growth rate of natural gas consumption is 10%. Do you consider using special manufacturing techniques and things in the future?

(1) The ideal operation is that the standard set by the rotary screw compressor and the centrifugal compressor should ensure normal operation within the modulation and adjustment range.

(2) The single-acting air-cooled reciprocating air compressor confirms the standard to ensure that the root of the fixed-speed control system has 30-40% unloading time.

(3) The water-cooled reciprocating air compressor can work continuously, but the selection criterion is to consider the buffering or unloading time of 20-25%.

(4) Study the functional characteristics of various types of air compressors, budget the power cost, and then determine which one is the choice to meet your factory's current and future needs.

(5) Is there serious air leakage in the factory? Should a leakage plan be established to reduce the load on the compressed air system?

(6) Are you satisfied with the operation, maintenance, installation and functional characteristics of the selected air compressor?

(7) When you select the air compressor and its additional equipment (such as dryers and filters), have you considered the quality requirements of compressed air?

(8) How does the additional equipment affect your choice of air compressor?

(9) Have you considered the backup air volume when the main air compressor fails?

(10) Does each shift need the same volume of compressed air?

(11) How does the selected air compressor operate when the gas consumption is low?

(12) Consider using a smaller air compressor to save energy and avoid excessive circulation and wear of the main air compressor.

(13) Whether the factory has different intermittent peak load needs to be considered.
