Natural Gas Compressor Selection

There are many types of natural gas compressors. The compressors used in natural gas production enterprises can be selected from two basic types: reciprocating and centrifugal. Screw compressors are also less used. Each type of compressor has its own characteristics, adapting to different production links to achieve better gas transmission efficiency.

1.1 Selection of reciprocating compressors

The operating part of a reciprocating compressor is a reciprocating piston, which reciprocates in the cylinder, continuously inhaling and discharging gas to pressurize natural gas. When choosing a reciprocating compressor to pressurize natural gas, ensure that the compressor operates safely, is easy to maintain, reduces the consumption of various energies, ensures that the driving machinery of the reciprocating compressor operates normally, and meets the technical requirements of energy saving and consumption reduction in natural gas field production.

1.2 Selection of centrifugal compressor

The centrifugal compressor has high operation requirements and is easy to adjust the flow. It is easy to achieve the purpose of energy-saving management. It is applied to gas field production and can meet the technical requirements of energy saving and consumption reduction. For example, if the centrifugal compressor produced by Zhengda Company is selected and applied to the long-distance gas transmission system, a very good application effect can be seen. The horizontally split centrifugal compressor is used in small-displacement places, while the vertically segmented compressor is used in the large-displacement transportation link. The drive equipment of the compressor is optimized to meet the technical requirements of energy saving and consumption reduction in gas field production. For example, if the motor drive method is adopted, energy-saving motors can be selected, and variable frequency speed regulation technical measures can be implemented to reduce the power consumption of the motor by changing the frequency of the power supply to meet the needs of natural gas field production.
